On the 4th July I will be passing through Heathrow on my way to Kenya. I have about 6 hours to waste. I haven't been to Heathrow in nearly 30 years, therefore have no idea what is allowed and what isn't allowed, also where you can visit ans where you can't.
Any information or suggestions gratefully received.

The options at Heathrow are limited. Enthusiasts are not overly welcome and any attempt to use the car parks for viewing will not last very long. But there is a small viewing area near the Heathrow Academy on the north side of the airport. Bus transfer from the terminals is free. www.heathrow.com/company/heathrow-jobs/heathrow-employment-and-skills-academy/find-the-academyIf you want photos, then depending on runway usage you can use the grass banks outside Terminal 5 or take the tube to Hatton Cross and walk along the A30 to the large field. You don't mention which terminals you are using, but if all you want to do is spotting, then it may be simpler to stay airside - T4 even has a small viewing area. Steve

Hi steve get the free bus to t5 and go to the coffee chain place overlooking the end of the runway northolt side. You can see all arrivals/departures depending on which way the winds blowing and see all northolt arrivals and departures! Did this when i came back from bangkok last year Regards tim 21833
