I've just found two useful functions in the 'Forum Information & Statistics' section at the bottom of the Home-Page.
These enable the user to show Recent Threads and/or Recent Posts.

Both a nice easy way to see the latest posts/happenings, very useful. The RSS feed will also send you notification of new posts.

Just tried inserting a photo in the Airlines section...procedure seems to be to insert a BBCode link from a 3rd party hosting site (I used flickr....cue photobucket moans!) so similar to Pprune ?...M West 17763 as here G1 by Ralph Pegram, on Flickr

Yes, works well that way, easier than as an attachment and able to place in text rather than at the end.

The risk with 3rd party hosting is that the 3rd party pulls the plug...viz. Photobucket which ruined the archive value of millions of postings on forums. I used Flickr here but that has just been flogged to Smug Mug by Yahoo (AKA OATH) so who knows what will happen?

Test post using a url (via the picture symbol in the message box) from an expired ebay auction...curiously their archived large photos don't link back to the relevant auction page and they are archived for a few months but not forever........blimey, it worked! ....this was Cambria in the non-camouflaged Horseshoe route scheme , perhaps 1944 at Rod-el-Farag on the Nile near Cairo...BOAC Sunderland to right

Is yours the only message in the thread? You can delete posts using the settings button in the top right hand corner, but I am not sure what will then happen to the rest of the thread.

I'm trying to attach one of my own photos to a new thread. Its a jpeg 2140 x 1070 (about 800Kb) but all I seem to get is a thumbnail size attachment.
Would be most appreciative of any help

I think it looks that way till it is actually uploaded, then showing full size?

Thanks Pete - still shows as a thumbnail, but shows full size when clicked (see RAF Battle-of-Britain air displays of the Nineteen Fifties thread).

Photobucket which disfigured many forums by disabling their free account photo hosting service has apparently reversed the move and the CEO responsible for the 'initiative' is no longer with Photobucket...test post ...bingo, it's working again! EDIT..and the new CEO is responsible for the 'Proudly hosted by PHOTOBUCKET' banner so he 'no longer has my confidence'

If you have under 1000 photos Flickr is still free If over that (I have 25,000) you need a Pro account at around $60 a year to keep them!! Ignore below - Just seeing if the link works flic.kr/p/AttAZw - That didn't So:- The bbc code did
