Mick
The front aircraft is 41-39049 the first production Fleetwings YPQ-12 (their only Aerial Target aircraft type)
Those behind are Erco's competitor, the drone conversion of their Model 415C, 41-39099 and behind that one most likely the initial one ordered/built 41-25196. USAAF type designation XPQ-13.

Yes , it's incredible how good Kodachrome was from the beginning...initially it was available in large film sizes e.g. 5x4 inch sheet film which explains the incredible resolution of the Mars and Conestoga shots....can you identify the drone? EDIT haha, thanks, Stig :-) !!

I laughed too Micky
Seldom I beat you with five minutes... Lucky this time....
It is a pity the guy running the show has so few comments about the many interesting photos he upload. Feedback is still not possible, meaning those individuals "crawling" out there cannot make comments either. There are quite a few pics I would like to know much more about.

Stig...I have a strong suspicion that a guy called Mark Allen M on the WIX warbird forum is responsible for the 'Vintage Photo Archive' on Flickr so if you put any queries about those photos on WIX he'll probably respond. He tends to put photos online for a few months then suddenly delete them without warning so always download if you see something interesting. An example clicking on photos in this WIX post on the Hellcat leads back to the Flickr album www.warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=70531 Micky

Stig......Not what you expect a Dak to be carrying? I don't think this one got into the Jenny Gradidge books except for its Flying Tiger ownership. I've seen a photo of another DC-3 painted in a similarly wild way in California in the 1970s by an artist/architect Barrie Briscoe who later lived near me in Cornwall but as it was in a posthumous exhibition I wasn't able to find out more....and the NASM have this other shot of the Thunderbird .
