The curious case of XM484-485
In September 1957, contract 15226 was issued to Hunting for two Jet Provosts to be numbered XM484 and 485. They were never built. Perhaps the most logical explanation is that they were intended as T4 prototypes, but replaced by two T3s taken off the line (XN567 and 468)

In March 1973, four 3 FTS JP5s of the Gemini Pair were noted at Leeming wearing the legend “Candy”: XW370 ‘49’, XW406 ‘48’ and XW407 ‘-’. However, shortly afterwards all three had reverted to participation with the Gemini Pair, the last-mentioned as ‘50’. Was this a proposed name change which did not meet official approval?
