Due to a misplaced Logbook ! -careless I know - I am trying to find reports for Mildenhall and Woodbridge to cover 30th September 1971.
Has anyone access to similar Logbooks or has copies of SEAR or Anglia Aeronews with residents and visitors over that period ?
I live in hope

Stuart - The extract below is from Anglia Aeronews dated September 1971. I've had to type this out as I could find no other way of attaching a 1.2 Mb pdf. There is much more relating to September 1971 in the October issue and I will email this to you if you let me know your email address. SERVICE SNIPPETS : The U.S. Navy contingent at Mildenhall received a new aircraft on 15th August in the form of C-1A 136748 ex CVA-59 from USS FORRESTAL. It later had its previous titles removed. The USN Mildenhall now have the following on strength: C-117D 17171 & 17191, C-131F 141021 and C-1A 136748, 136753 & 136756. A number of U-21A King Airs have been delivered through Mildenhall for the U.S.Army in Europe recently, noted on 15th August were: 15893, 15898 & 15899, while on 19th August 15895, 15896, 15897 & 15900 were noted. The standard colour scheme for these aircraft being gloss brown underside and white top, '96 and '97 however were white oyerall with red arctic fin and 15900 was the only aircraft not fitted with wingtip tanks. The remaining four EC-135H's of the 10th ACCS at Mildenhall have received 0- prefixes during the month (See p.63) viz. 0-10274, '82, '85 and '91. Another C-130 Squadron, coded 'FH' the 48th TAS/313th TAW started to arrive at Mildenhall on 9th September and to date the following have been noted: 40510, 40516, 40521 and 37833. The C-130E's of the 36th TAS/316th TAW coded 'LM' have now departed. Also present at Mildenhall for the week beginning 4th September were six KC-97L's viz 0-22604, 0-20833, 0-20918,and 0-30295 from Ohio ANG, 0-22605 from Wisconsin ANG and 0-30291 from Texas ANG which had been displaced from Frankfurt while Exercise Reforger 3 and Crested Cap 3 is being held in Europe. The exercise may also have accounted for the rare visit of C-119K 0-38108 to Mildenhall on 18.8
Kind regards

Stuart
As it's pouring with rain and blowing a gale, I've typed out the notes relating to Mildenhall from the October 1971 edition of Anglia Aeronews.
The EC-135N's that visited Mildenhall were 0-10329 on 30.9, 0-00372 on 2.10 and 0-00375 on 4.10, the latter aircraft carrying ALOTS.
To supplement the information given on the front page of last month's issue, a full list of C-130E's of 48 TAS/313 TAW at present on rotation at Mildenhall is reproduced here; coded "FH" 37806, '810, '833, '853, 40510, '516, '521, '524, '528, '535, '542, '549 and '570. Also, to make up the number to 19 aircraft, the following "FB" coded C-130E's are present, 37793, 40509, '512, '519, '526 and '532. It is thought that some of the "FH" aircraft arrived at Mildenhall with "FB" codes and also that this squadron may be the first of a new 6-month rotational duty unit at Mildenhall. Another group of KC-97L's arrived at Mildenhall on 25.9 for a one-week stay, viz: 0-30243, '291, '296, '350 and '361, being joined by 30363 on 26.9 and 30317 on 3.10, a11 aircraft belonging to Texas ANG.
Kind regards
