Undoubtedly due to the embargo placed on the general public with regard to carrying cameras, photographs taken at RAF Battle-of-Britain Air Displays during the nineteen-fifties seem to be as rare as hen's teeth.
However, the attached photograph of the static display at Wattisham in September 1953 was taken by an East Anglian Daily Times photographer positioned up on the Control Tower.

Before anybody else mentions it - there is a third Meteor F.8 hiding to the right of the old Watch Tower, but it was not part of the static display.

I've posted this photo on another forum, but I also think that it's relevent to this thread. The photograph shows preparations for Wattisham's BoB display in September 1954. 152-Squadron NF-14s on the ground with the F.8s of 257 and 263 Squadrons over the top.
