I get Air Britain News via a Pocketmags subscription, and despite some comments in this forum regarding the magazine in Pocketmags, I am able to download the various pages of each month's ABN and then collate them into a searchable PDF magazine which I then keep on my computer. I don't have the space to keep magazines, but would like to read and keep an electronic version of Aviation World rather than wait for several years until they appear on a CD or DVD.
Are there any plans for the future for an e-version of Aviation World? With technology moving forward, I think that Air Britain should now be looking to the future and making more products available for download and Aviation World would be a nice start.

There are currently no plans to create an electronic version of Aviation World, but this will be brought to the Publications Committee for consideration.
While we know some members are quite happy to get our products digitally, we are also aware that there are still significant numbers who do not have this access or are uncomfortable with it. Therefore we will still be printing hard copy magazines and books for some time to come (just to reassure some who might be worried we would stop those).

A further consideration is the size of the files.
For editorial work – such as proof reading and roughly checking that the images are in the right place – the whole copy of Aviation World comes out at about 36 MB in PDF form. But any self-respecting enthusiast would declare the photographs therein to be “rubbish.”
The file sent to the printer is some 175 MB, in order to accommodate colour images of a reasonable quality. That won’t break anybody’s computer, but it might divide the prospective market into those who do, and do not require sharp pictures.
