A combination of a England & Wales public holiday and UK postal strikes mean that the August ABN and Autumn Aviation World will not go into the postal system until September 1/2. Please be patient as you wait for your next Air-Britain fix! By waiting until after the strikes we hope to avoid the magazines getting lost in the system.

Thanks for the update. Hopefully delivery will be before the next postal strikes of 8th/9th September.

A reminder that deliveries of the August ABN and the Autumn Aviation World have been delayed due to the postal strikes. Some people have received their magazines, but others have not, including yours truly. We at Air-Britain cannot control the speed at which Royal Mail process the magazines, so please be patient.

It is clear from my mailbox that (at least) postcodes beginning 'MK' and 'TW' (and some other West of London postcodes) have a lot of members who have not received magazines. We hope these will materalise during the next week. Again, please be patient - this is a matter outside of our control. Thank you, Howard Nash - MembershipSecretary

Once again, the September ABN is caught up in another set of Royal Mail strike delays. As far as we are aware, all of the August ABNs and Autumn Aviation World copies did eventually reach their UK recipients, so please be patient as you await the latest magazine.
Thank you Steve M / Howard N

The November Air-Britain News and Winter Aviation World will be entering the post system on Monday - however with a backlog from two days of strikes this week and two more planned next week, the actual date it comes through your letter box is out of our hands. The address slips will also be your renewal notice - it helps us if you can renew on-line at www.air-britain.co.uk/actmembers If you had a two-year subscription, do check if you need to renew this year or not! POSTAL DISRUPTION TO BOOKS AND MAGAZINES
Our distribution team have been busy trying to get as many orders through the system as possible, including working extra hours ahead of last posting dates. However, we cannot guarantee actual deliveries, as the UK postal system continues to be disrupted by strikes. This has also impacted the delivery of some third-party books to our warehouse and outstanding orders can only be fulfilled when the stocks arrive with us.
Similarly, deliveries of the November Air-Britain News and Winter Aviation World have been delayed. Non-UK deliveries seem to have also been impacted, presumably because of delays in leaving the UK. We ask members to be patient as we cannot, at this time, send out replacements for magazines that will eventually arrive. The strikes have also affected preparation of the December Air-Britain News and this will not be despatched until early January.

My December 2022 ABN just arrived 1000L on 10th January, not sure about the new shrink wrap system, not easy to get it open, I can see possible damage to the magazine in the future the way Royal Mail throw things about

Tony
My copy also arrived today and I think the shrink wrap version is better than the previous compostable wrapper. Those were bigger than the magazine and most months my copy arrived with holes in the packaging. Sadly the print industry has moved away from the type of plastic wrapper used prior to 2022. We continue to look at alternatives, such as paper envelopes, but these too will have their problems.

Is there a delay in the posting out of the January 2023 ABN?
Thanks

Yes, the magazines were only posted in the last day or two - not sure exactly why there was a delay in ging through the printers

My magazine arrived today too with some damage - plastic covering torn off/missing from one corner exposing the magazine to the elements !
