Allied Air Command and the Norwegian Air Force are inviting you to attend an exclusive Spotters’ Day at Bodø Air Base, Norway on 3 November 2018. Different types of fighter jets, fighter bombers as well as wide body aircraft from nine nations can be seen in action.
All aircraft are participating in Exercise Trident Juncture, NATO’s largest exercise in years. With over 40,000 participants from 31 nations, around 150 aircraft, 70 ships and more than 10,000 vehicles this exercise is a prime example of NATO Allies and partners working together in peacetime as well as in a crisis. The Spotters’ Day provides you the unique opportunity to collect imagery of various aircraft participating in this large scale exercise.

Programme of the day
07:00 Pick up at main gate at Bodø air base
07:10 Inprocessing and security briefing
08:00 Transportation
08:15 Arrival at dedicated photography area. Taxiing, take-offs and landing is expected within given timeframe.
14:00 End of event, transport back to main gate
Ground Rules
We can host a maximum of 150 attendants for this event. Therefore please understand that we will have to apply the "first come, first serve” principle.
Flight safety as well as your own safety is paramount during your visit. Therefore please stay within the dedicated photography area at all times. We understand that you are looking to get the best possible photo and we carefully chose one dedicated location that will allow you some great shots. However, please understand that there are areas off limits for you, no matter how good a shot from there might be.
Please obey any directions given by your escorts or security personnel.
Please carry a valid ID with you during the visit. It must be the same ID you submitted when you registered for attendance.
Flight schedule of the day is subject to short notice changes according to operational planning.
We can also not guarantee for weather and good visibility.
Arrival and Parking
Please understand that there is no parking available inside or in front of the base. There will be no pickup service. Please be at the main gate no later than 07.00 o’clock local time for registration and briefings.
Travel and Accommodation
If you’re arriving by plane your destination airport is Bodø, Norway.
Accommodation as well as booking assistance cannot be provided. Please book your accommodation by own means. We suggest you book swiftly after we confirm your participation as many hotel rooms are expected to be occupied during the exercise period.
General information and Advice
The event is free of admission charge.
The runway stretches from East to West. From the dedicated photo location you will be able to look both directions. The spot we chose for you is elevated.
We expect cold temperatures, so ensure you bring appropriate clothing.
We cannot provide any food or drinks during the event, so please come prepared.
