Hi everybody,
Israeli AF C-130E 310 of 131Sqn was in the static park at RIAT97. There is much confusion about its c/n - is it 3880 or 3993? I have two databases and these provide conflicting numbers... Also, the RIAT checklist lists it with additional pseudo-civilian ID 4X-FBG. I havn't noticed this on any photo I've seen of that Herc dating from 1997. Was it ever carried externally?
TIA for any help Hermann

Planebase has :- c/n 3880 as 313 ex 4X-FBL c/n 3993 as 310 ex 4X-FBG
I have seen the odd piece of film (Movie) where the 4X regs were on the fin. Possibly need the civil reg to go to places that don't want Israeli military seen flying around?

I am surprised to note that some databases still have incorrect c/ns listed for the C-130Es, as every one of them has been physically inspected over the years. Just to confirm, they are:
301 c/n 4000 304 c/n 4014, ex 004 305 c/n 3913 307 c/n 3925, ex 007 309 c/n 3943 310 c/n 3993 311 c/n 3940 312 c/n 3747 313 c/n 3880 314 c/n 3840 316 c/n 3932 318 c/n 3914
Others may also have had 0__ serials at some point, but they will all have had the same last two digits as above.
