Lasham Gliding Society at Lasham Airfield, Hampshire are hosting the Junior and Regional Gliding competition during the period 3rd - 11th of August. We expect up to 70 aircraft to take part.
We are offering the opportunity to spotters and other interested people, the chance to have a guided tour by 5 seater buggy of the flight line and other gliders on the airfield not normally in view to the general public. This will be weather dependent, as the individual day may be scrubbed due to weather, and therefore no gliders will be on the flight line.
We make a charge of £5 per person for this, of which 50% goes to the Glider Heritage Museum and 50% to the Lasham Trust to support young people learning to fly.
For another £5 donation we will take you to the glider museum itself for a private tour of both hangars containing many unique examples of vintage gliders and sailplanes.
The flight line tours will start around 9.30am and lasting till approx 30 minutes before launching of the competition. It will work on a first come service with no guarantee of being able to take all that may turn up.
We have offered this service over the last three years of competitions, and has been very gratefully received.
