DV644 - the date of this incident was 2.8.42, as correctly noted against the entry for DV641. Boston AL696, did not blow up, it crashed on landing, as related in its own entry. The same date error applies to HX480
As per our 247 Sqn history "Rise from the East", Typhoon DN542/ZY-Z was hit by flak on a mission on 26 Jul 43. It force-landed at Lympne and was not repaired. This accounts for the listed SOC date of 3 Aug 43.

It of course begs the question "what" was w/o 10.6.1944? An old booklet 'The Mosquito crash log' says DZ607 was the aircraft in question, but that cannot be correct either. Whatever the AM78 card states it certainly isn't that.
Seems you have to check 169 Sq ORB as well.....
PS: Doh, I had the answer right in front of me Chorley lists it as DD607 and so it says in the DA100-DZ999 booklet as well.
