Mosquito DZ489 of 105 Sqn was lost on 18.11.43, not 19.11.43, which will have been taken from the paperwork date in the Form 78. Source as usual is the ORB (take off 2027, crash landing 2331)

As recorded in the interesting article in the Autumn 2002 Aviation World, Jungmann DR626 was actually stolen and flown to Christchurch on 30.4.41

The book records DC-2 DG475 as being lost on 25.12.41 Everything I can find (31 Sqn history book, The First Seventy Years, online) says it was lost on 8.12.41. One passenger was killed.
The unit ORB was re-constructed later so is no help. I can't find an AM75 to see if that helps.

Well Andy
I presume you don't have C Shores et al's Mediterranean Air War 1940-45? In their vol 1 they give a very plausible explanation why they have chosen 8 Dec and not the 25th
The latter day was (seemingly at least) a rather quiet day, with two British losses due to AA-fire No German claims what so ever
Dec 8th on the other hand was a much more busy day when DG475 from 31 Sq was shot down! No claim exists specifically for a DC-2 (of course) but Obfw Otto Schulz claimed a Douglas Boston in the right area (around LG 138). As we know the identification skill by all pilots during the war was not very impressive (easy for us arm chair warriors to say), so in all likelihood this claim/loss is a match.
Cheers Stig
