A message from Brian Tonge, Air-Britain Manchester Branch
I write with news of the passing of our good friend Denis Norman on 30 November 2020.
Denis, aged 88, was a very private person and a real gentleman. He had been involved in the family transport business for many years and became a serious aviation photographer around 1985. Many of his images appeared in Digest/Aviation World and other publications. He was a member of the Manchester Branch and even gave presentations on aircraft visiting Manchester Airport.
Our thoughts are with his family at this time. RIP Denis, flying high above the clouds.

I corresponded with Denis for a number of years and, although I did not meet up with him, he was very prompt in writing and very kind and courteous in all our dealings. I flew from Manchester quite often and, if I was able to give him the flight details, he always tried to be there for the take-off/landing with his camera and would send me a copy. Our last dealings were when the Cathay Pacific 747-400s passed through Manchester on retirement. Always keen to see his photos in our magazines which were of excellent quality and composition. Saddened to learn of his passing.
