Halifax II JN959 was lost on the night of 10/11 Feb 44, not as listed. Date of death for the crew in the CWGC register is 11 Feb 44. All are buried in Belgrade War Cemetery.

247 Sqn Typhoon JP792 was lost on 8.8.44, not 7.8.44

Correcting a typo, the second and final squadron for Typhoon JR214 should read 247 Sqn, not 357 Sqn.

Typhoon JR317 is reported as ending its service with 45 OTU.
Is this correct, as I can't easily find anything about this unit?
Might it be 55 OTU, or 56 OTU?

Correcting a typo, the second and final squadron for Typhoon JR214 should read 247 Sqn, not 357 Sqn. A lot of typos around for this one Our Typhoon file lists it with 2 57 Sq Francis Mason in his 'The Hawker Typhoon and Tempest' actually got it right and also says it carried code ZY-C (247Sq) Cheers Stig |

According to Shores/Thomas in their Typhoon-Tempest book and our own Flying Training and Support Units there has never been any 45 OTU Our Typhoon File says 56 OTU which "fits better" than 55 OTU (the latter unit became 4 TEU on 26 Jan 1944) Cheers Stig |
