The go-ahead has been given to dispose of yet more land around the Rolls-Royce facility at Hucknall, Notts for more housing. Quite when it will happen I don't know, but it is expected that the control tower, the two Bellman hangars next to it, a length of factory (zigzag north light roof with cowls) and adjacent two WWI vintage hangars are to go. All are in good condition, having been in use until relatively recently, the Bellmans in particular. How many are there that have not been abandoned since the war? Why they have not been put up for sale for spare parts at least defeats me.
Access is good, one can drive through the new estate, down the line of the runway and photograph from the outside of the perimeter fence without difficulty.
