Similarly, D7966 is reported in the text as lost on 22 Aug 18, but in the production list as 23 Aug 18.

E2291 is listed as crashing with 139 Sqn on 7 Jan 19 on Page 72. The production list gives the date as 7 Nov 18 (Page 314). Which is correct?

E2270 is listed as crashing with 139 Sqn on 16 Jan 19 on Page 72 (well actually it says "Five days later...", the previous entry being 11 Jan 19). The production list gives the date as 25 Jan 19 (Page 314). Which is correct?

Andy
This is always tricky business My first source for the RFC/RAF in Italy was Norman Macmillan's book Offensive Patrol He lists the loss of C4759 happening on the 23rd! Checking Trevor Henshaw he also lists it clearly on the 23rd (no action at all it seems on the 22nd)
One internet site gives this loss both on the 23rd and oddly enough also on the 24th. However I believe the internet compiler has confused the SOC date and simply still call it "missing" even on the latter date He does the same thing BTW with C4762! (Macmillan makes the same mistake in Offensive Patrol and lists the loss of C4762 on the 24th!)
Looking at the actual action on the 23rd, we have from Austrian sources that both Roman Schmidt Flik 30/J and Friedrich Navratil claimed one Bristol each on the 23rd (not the 22nd or 24th). Since the actual aircraft list in our book is more likely to have been "better" proofread than the general text and with evidence from the Austrian side I would say the 23rd is correct.
Very good to spot such a tiny discrepancy Andy. Very well done!!
Cheers Stig

Similarly, D7966 is reported in the text as lost on 22 Aug 18, but in the production list as 23 Aug 18. The text (page 71) mixes two dates, the 22nd and 23rd D7966 was lost on the 23rd (and if you look at the photo text on top of page 71 the text says so!) D8075 was the aircraft lost on the 22nd Both aircraft were on photo recce missions (six aircraft on each day), but in totally different areas All quoted sources above says the same thing Cheers Stig

E2291 is listed as crashing with 139 Sqn on 7 Jan 19 on Page 72. The production list gives the date as 7 Nov 18 (Page 314). Which is correct? Since this is a post-armistice loss (with regard to Austro-Hungary), only Macmillan states 7 Nov 1918 Henshaw stops at 4 Nov! However the Internet site also gives 7 Nov Cheers Stig

The production list gives the date as 25 Jan 19 (Page 314). Which is correct? Here neither Macmillan nor Henshaw is of any use (too late accident) However the Internet site says 25 Jan 1919 For some reason it seems we have two different individuals here, one has written the "combat text" while the other has compiled the aircraft listings. The listings have so far proved to be correct every time Thanks again Andy for your keen eyes!! Cheers Stig

Also: J8291 L of 16 Sqn (photo page 108) E2428 Y of 11 Sqn (photo page 108) F2440 2 of 18Sqn (photo page 110)
C9837 is reported in the listing as B4 and C4 of 8 Sqn, wrecked 18 Jul 19. Photos said to be of this incident on page 109 show it coded B4, so it was either C4 and then B4, or the reference to C4 is incorrect.

The code in the listings for E2624 of 4 Sqn should presumably read A4 rather than 4A, as per the photo on page 114 There is a photo of F4323 code 3 of 2 FTS on page 115 - the only unit mentioned in the listings is 33 TDS J6751 is said to have served with 100 Sqn according to the photo on page 115 - not mentioned in the listings. F4381 was K of 16 Sqn (photo page 116)

On Page 144, there is a photo of F4621 coded J, captioned as being with 28 Sqn at Ambala in 1928. In the individual aircraft listings, there is no mention of this aircraft serving with 28 Sqn.
