Perhaps like many others I have started to sort my many old photos and slides. My problem is that I never really kept good records of dates etc. So my problem is trying to get at least a rough idea of the dates for my listing. Slides Kodachrome is easy as they have the month/year printed on them. But it appears other manufacturers did not follow this practice. Prints Most were processed by high Street retailers eg Boots. Now where I still have the folders they returned the prints in these often have a date on them so problem solved. But for the rest..... I have looked at the negatives and unmounted slide strips but cant see any date or obvious code on them. I have tried Googleing but no luck.
The only other way I can think of is to use any available visible registrations and back track through various magazines eg Air Britian, SCAN etc which might be fine, if long winded, for the unusual but not for most I suspect.
So the question is does anyone have advice on if or how I maybe able to date them please?
Thanks Chris

We've probably all had the same problem Depends how many you are talking about, but you could put some on AB-IX and ask Or if far too many, a free Flickr account (Max 1,000 images before you have to pay) and add a link on AB-IX to various folders - or similar on some other image site. Hangars in the background are helpful Scramble Show reports might be useful www.scramble.nl/database/show-reports/united-kingdom I thought I was fairly careful - I used to stamp the date on the back of prints. Even now, finding the odd howler
