Milton Keynes Aviation Society presents "Imperial Airways: National Asset or National Joke?" by Graham Smith
Graham Smith looks at the state of the British commercial airline industry after WW1 and how it compared unfavourably to state owned and funded airlines in other countries. Imperial Airways started trading on April 1st 1924, and was treated as an April’s fool joke by the British press in the face of superior competitors. Graham explains how they tried to dispel that myth. Venue: Kents Hill Community Centre, Frithwood Crescent, Kents Hill, Milton Keynes, MK7 6HQ. Doors open at 7.30 p.m. Tuesday 10th January and lecture begins at 8.00 p.m.
Visitors are very welcome - £5.00 per head. More details on www.mkas.co.uk
