Milton Keynes Aviation Society presents a talk by Graham Perry on 'Some RAF Characters of the Cold War Era'.During his 20 years in the Royal Air Force, Graham Perry was lucky to encounter (and fly with) some of the defining ‘characters’ of the Cold War era. Tonight’s tales about them can best be described as ‘tolerated anarchy’. They are typical of the exploits and attitudes of many National Servicemen who wisely chose to stay with what was clearly a forgiving employer. Together they forged a new post-World War 2 culture in the RAF, one that gave the Service a style that sustained it throughout the Cold War years of the 1960s and 70s. Venue: Kents Hill Community Centre, Frithwood Crescent, Kents Hill, Milton Keynes, MK7 6HQ. Doors open at 7.30 p.m. Tuesday 8th August and the lecture begins at 8.00 p.m. Visitors are very welcome - £5.00 per head. More details on www.mkas.co.uk
