From infinity to beyond 2024 Conference – exploring civil aviation history & archives
British Airways Heritage Centre, Heathrow

The 2024 AAAI Conference will look at the history of airlines in the UK and how aviation archivists, both volunteers and professional, have worked with these collections.
Speakers include:
• Allan Winn of Brooklands Museum and AHUK on the impact of archives on the aviation heritage sector.
• British Airways Heritage on their work championing the company's past.
• Dacre Watson on Britain’s Other Airlines, the spread of the Smaller Airlines during the Interwar Period (pre-recorded).
• Mark Pitchforth on the UK airline archives at the History of Advertising Trust.
• Dr Lewis Smith on BOAC and the Promotion of the British World.
• Alice Millard on the Sir Freddie Laker Archive (pre-recorded).
• Peter Davison on the Steppingstones in the development of British civil aviation.
There will also be opportunities to take a tour of British Airways Heritage and an opportunity for aviation archives to man a stall to publicise their collections.
Tickets include lunch and other refreshments.
We are offering two bursaries covering the ticket price and travel for those who would otherwise find it difficult to attend the event, including early career professionals. Please contact aaaiarchives@gmail.com for more details.
Please note: Waterside is a secure site so bookings will close a week before the event, delegates will have to show photo ID on arrival and those arriving by car need to register their car number plate during booking.
