I am pleased to announce that the new Archive files for June 2019 have been sent to the Webmaster and should shortly be available in the Members' section of the Air-Britain website.

The articles are:
The West German Civil Aircraft Register from 1955 - Part 22 (medium resolution)
The West German Civil Aircraft Register from 1955 - Part 22 (high resolution)
The French Civil Aircraft Register from 1922 - F-AOZB to F-APDP
I am hoping that there will be a section on the historic Yugoslav register in the Autumn additions.

Not there as yet, which also reminds me that neither is the FULL Cosmic Wind article that I produced to accompany the Summer AvWorld - indeed I am not even sure WHERE it will appear. I appreciate that Ian Sparkes does not update the Forum pages/links on a daily basis, but I would hope that when the ARCHIVE material that Robert promises appears, so will the Cosmic Wind material appear and somewhere on the Forum the location will be notified !!! Ideally, links promised in a particular AvWorld should appear at the same time as that magazine.

Yes Bernard is right, nothing so far.
But even worse, nothing has been added to Aeromilitaria during the whole year.

I have received the June 2019 updates to Archive on line, which have been instructed and should appear on line soon.
With regard to the Cosmic Wind article, my apologies, but it appears that the announcement of the article being uploaded was overlooked. The full version is in the Researchers Corner section of the Members Area.
I regret that I am unable to comment or indeed respond to the Aeromilitaria question

Ian: Thanks for finally uploading my Cosmic Wind pdf, although I thought that Steve Mitchell and I had agreed that it should have been in the PUBLIC area, in order that non-members could see the type of in-depth research that Air-Britain has to offer. Even for Members, access is less than ideal, having to navigate via the Members' Portal and then hunt down the list on Researchers Corner. "Researchers Corner" is the public area of the Members section, and does not require registration or a password.
The hyperlink you quoted will take you straight to the full document,
There is also the option of simply selecting the link to Researchers Corner via the drop down menus on the web site

 A little feedback for the September 2018 French Register section...came across this image today of F-AOOP Potez 540...this cropped up whilst searching around F-APEU (also a government Potez 540) (the latter presumably will be in the September 2019 French Register section)  As happens with image searches another interesting Vichy period Potez popped up(the 662 F-ARAY) One for next year, perhaps?  |

Aeromilitaria and Archive magazines were merged into Aviation World in 2018. The reasons were well outlined at the time.

Aeromilitaria and Archive magazines were merged into Aviation World in 2018. Phil K I think that is what the subscribers were led to believe was going to happen; it is not what actually happened. From Bernard Martin's recent e-mails it is clear that Aviation World will continue to be aimed at the "the more general reader member", as it was before the demise of the historical quarterlies. In my view Bernard is wrong to suggest that there has been any "revised content policy" for Aviation World.

That is not how I read it
True enough some of the present articles in Aeromilitaria would continue in Aviation World, but not all of them.
I for one certainly did not realise there would be a dramatic drop in military contents due to this.
Also why do we still have a heading called Aeromilitaria in the members section?
I also fail to understand how a deeply researched "Post-1950 Specifications" (thanks Chris!!) and an equally deeply researched "Hawker Hunter in RAF Service" (thanks Keith!!) can be called articles for the "general readership". Is that really the individuals we are now turning to?
Should this also be interpreted as when these two excellent topics has run its course, there will simply be no more interesting articles in Aviation World?
Without them Aviation World will be very poor indeed!

Both the series of articles you mention are coming to an end, as far as input into Aviation World is concerned. I would contest your comment about a lack of interesting articles recently - there have been a number of varied subject, but just because they may not be to your taste does not mean they are not worthwhile.
The lack of new articles is down to the fact that there are no new contributors coming forward with articles - they do not need to be the finished product, as the final polish can be provided by the editor. But he cannot be expected to write the whole magazine. There will be an announcement shortly about some proposed subjects so it will be interesting to see if anybody comes forward. Of course if somebody has an article not on that list, their input would be most welcome.

I expressed a personal opinion, which I think I am entitled to after all.
There are most likely several opinions regarding Aviation World, but since I no longer feel I belong to a "general readership" (some 7-8000 books in my library is a small proof of that), I am sorry to say it is a long time since I felt Aviation World generally brought anything new to me. A few articles here and there but no more.
Keeping photo pages with very small photos cannot compete or come anywhere near the large number ot sites available on the 'net, so why not just put them on AB own photo site?
Writing short 2-4 pages articles about subjects rather demanding a full size book does not appeal to me either, even if the subject itself can sometimes be interesting enough. A waste of space if you ask me....
Both Aeromilitaria and Archive were (is) really top notch publications constanly giving me new unpublished information which, in my mind, is just what Air Britain is all about.
To publish a glossy magazine with details you can find most of the time on the internet (if you search long enough) simply is not my cup of tea.
The reason no one is coming up with any articles in Aeromilitaria is perhaps they are like me, they want to see their stuff in print, not hidden away on a remote computer site....
Sorry, if that is tought to swallow for many of us, but again, it is my personal opinion....

Stg, hear, hear, I wholeheartedly agree with you. Being greedy, I would love Aeromilitaria and Archive both in print and electronically (maybe a simplified text only version) for ease of searching, but I this that bus has gone.
