Well Andy I actually think when we end up somewhat hanging on the fence (old Swedish expression) it could be a simple matter of not everyone who were writing records for various Government (Military) establishments were properly informed. I have worked for various so called Global Companies for some 30 years and way too many times we were the last to know, when in fact we were supposed, in most cases, to be the first..... The odd thing was, being not informed, we were always somehow guilty of neglect....so much for One world - one Team... Your last detail about N5646, guess what? You are right, my booklet has the correct date....29.2.1940.... Hats off Andy Don't stop! I love every correction you make. Never boring for a second. Happy New Year to you and everyone else. Master N7967 was lost on 9 Sep 40 in a crash at Halkyn which claimed the lives of P/O S Body and P/O W G Rees: discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C16472631 Note that the serial is incorrectly listed as N7867.

Just in case it was not corrected in a later volume, Master N7602 of 8 FTS was lost in 1940, not 1942.

Just in case it was not corrected in a later volume, Spitfire N3287 of 92 Sqn was lost on 2 8 July 1940. It took off at 0035 and crashed at 0350. It is also listed as such in "Battle of Britain Then and Now"
