Wellington X MF351 is listed as 303 FTU/3 OADU/Med, DBR in accident 30.6.44 It was actually destroyed on 28.6.44 when hit by debris from LP182, which exploded on the ground as a result of a faulty bomb. Both aircraft were from 37 Squadron. I presume 30.6.44 was the strike date?

Mosquito ML904 of 105 Sqn was lost on 15.11.43, not 16.11.43, which will have been taken from the paperwork date in the Form 78:
The 105 Sqn ORB: discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D8385672confirms the 15.11.43. 10 aircraft were airborne between 1740 and 1849, with the nine survivors landing between 1954 and 2159.

Mosquito ML998 will have been shot down by a day fighter on 23.12.44. Take off was 1031. The only day fighter unit claiming a Mosquito on the 23rd was II./JG 26. Major Anton Hackl claimed a Mosquito at 12.56H in the Köln-Mönchen-Gladbach area. B Rgds Stig

Thanks Stig, that would certainly seem to match. The target was Köln.

With thanks to a thread on the RAF Commands forum, Wellington XI MP641 was lost while operating with 294 Sqn on 16 June 1944. This date is confirmed on the aircraft's record card, which lists the units as 1443 Flt/OADU, then SOC FB - I can find no reference to 458/38 as listed in the book.

Don't know which thread you are talking about Andy, but Bomber losses in the ME and Med (Gunby/Temple) has no loss of MP641 on 16 June 1944. As far as I can see the card itself only refers to a SOC date. The AM 59 card (hand writing awful as usual) does not list any units at all after aircraft was sent to ME. I can only assume that the scribble on the card refers to a transfer to that area... (I can read "En route" and "arrived to" but no to where) All three listed Squadrons were in that region during the time frame in question, and I have no idea if either 458 or 38Sqds are correct or not, but can they be ruled out? Cheers Stig
