Hello, This being my first post on forum, besides most aviation subjects I have always taken a keen interest in airports and airfields, including infrastucture that is about to disappear through site clearance, obsolete, future development etc.
Just thought I would highlight the fact that one of the old WW 2 hangars on the southwest side of Manchester airport (on the left hand side of the road going towards the viewing park) is in the process of demolition. I believe that hangar dates from 1941/42 and was once used by Fairey Aviation, later used for many years as a servicing hangar, sad to see but the smaller and similar adjacent structure remains for the time being.
Kind regards, Gerry Rudman
